What is Qi Concepts?

Qi (pronounced ‘ki’) is
the name of the Japanese symbol for energy. Our aim is to create energy flow in organisations; unblocking both the personal and the organisational barriers. These barriers prevent the business maximising its success/profit/cash.

People are the last major untapped resource available to organisations. Business processes have been re-engineered; long paper trails have been computerised; emails have replaced letters and memos. However no cohesive strategy has been applied to managing people. Downsizing was an effective way to reduce costs quickly, however the longer-term effects are now being seen in employee attitudes to employment.

We specialise in helping organisations to manage their people by facilitating development of both the people and the organisation itself. We thoroughly research the business and then facilitate measurable behavioural change. We achieve this change at all levels of the organisation, through our supportive yet challenging development style.

What are the most important issues facing clients today?

  • Recruiting and retaining talented people; or
  • Putting talented people in the right job; or
  • Lack of any clear benefits from expensive development programmes?

We believe all these issues are part of the same problem; the war for talented people.

This war is a key concept for the 21st Century organization. This war is relentless and will only get more intense over the next decade. But the good news is that, in this war, there are trusted and loyal warriors who can fight some of the battles for you. Qi Concepts can be your samurai in the war for talent.

How can organisations win the war for talent AND achieve their financial goals ?

To entice talented people, businesses have begun to offer all sorts of benefits – at first it was just stock options and flexible working hours, now it is a nap room, concierge services, on-site chefs and on-site child care facilities.

Employers are also scrambling to keep their current workers happy. With every resignation, yet more intellectual capital simply walks out their door and into some other organisation.

People obviously want competitive salaries and health care benefits, but they also want a meaningful corporate culture and work-life balance. And, there is something else that they really feel strongly about - training and development - the chance to learn new things, take on new responsibilities, and grow.

"Development plays an important role as an employee attraction/retention tool when workers are considering whether to stay with a current employer or move on to greener pastures," reports a Gallup poll Employees Speak Out on Job Training: Findings of a New US Study.

Targeted, structured and measurable development of both the people and the organisation can win the war for talent. It retains and develops talented people, at the same time as ensuring the talent is used in the most cost-effective way.
